Creating My Community to be My Home...
I have developed a deep understanding of the wants and needs of the Southeastern Washington Communities and what special opportunities and challenges this area brings for all of its new residents as well as existing members of the community .
A good part of my success as a realtor has come from the fact that I grew up in a construction zone in the formative years of my life.
My mother built our family home and my mother was in the habit of purchasing investment properties and fixing them up, we had at least 20 different homes. My mother designed our home , inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright in the Pacific Northwest.
So off to college I went, originally receiving my first Degree, a B.S. in Community Health Education.
I came to the Tri-Cities area as a new bride in 1978, and wenton to become the first Education Director at the Community Health Organization. Our focus in those days was all health education and to assist our clients to be fully informed with the appropriate information.
I went back to graduate school in 1982 , and received my master's in applied behavioral science, counseling, group dynamics and organization development. I then went back and received a teaching certificate in health education and special education endorsements to work with special needs kids , which I love.
I went on to become the president of the Board of Directors for PP and which grew to become PP of Central Washington. I subsequently became the director of Women's Programs at Columbia Basin College. I became a member of a large federal organization while working with Battelle Northwest as a trainer with emergency preparedness for chemical and radiological hazards, and received my HAZ/MAT training.
I then became a member of the Benton-Franklin Health Department working in the area of Women's Programs, Breast and Cervical Health programs.
Then in 1999 I started into real estate working on my passion for designing, remodeling and decorating homes , which had been my hobby , which I have now turned into my profession.
I'm a director on the Tri-Cities Board of Directors , and a previous Chair of Member Services , which conducts orientation for new realtors and previous Chair for the Education Committee, for 10 years .
My current designations:
I am a Broker, and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS)
Washington State Board and Benton Franklin area rep for this
organization.
Senior Real Estate Specialist Designation to work with Seniors.
ABR Designation (Accredited Buyer’s Representative)
Certified Staging Professional (CSP)
Staging impacts the condition of a house; change the condition of the house you decrease the odds of showings without bids. Attracted buyers will be impressed by the way the house looks. A staged house makes for beautiful photos. Beautiful Photos attract more buyers to showings; this means more offers and increasing the opportunity to sell the listing on the first round of marketing.
Certified Negotiation Specialist (CNS)
Few people realize that a Realtor REALLY earns her fee once an offer comes in! That's when a working knowledge in negotiation techniques can make the difference in whether or not an agreement can be worked out to everyone's satisfaction. Many transactions fall apart when a buyer and seller can't come to terms, and end up in a stalemate, or WORSE. YOU win because earning this designation has given me the tools and techniques to manage the negotiations of your transaction to a smooth and successful conclusion.
Member of TriDec
Member of Chamber of Commerce
Volunteer for the Habitat for Humanity and have raised money for
them.
Former board member for the Soroptomist Organization.
Member of a womens investment group called the Frugal Fems and
previous president.
I also Represent the builder who is based out of Bend, Oregon and built a beautiful townhome community in North Richland call Sienna Sky.
My family is in the area as my children are all grown , my daughter is a first-grade teacher at an elementary school and my son works for UPS . I would say that my primary focus with all of my efforts has been about - Creating my community to be my home.
I look forward to helping you with any of your real estate New Home, remodeling or opportunities. Additionally, as a member of the Windermere Real Estate Team, part of every check I receive goes to the Windermere foundation to help those in need.

Susan
